Published October 29, 2026. Steps follow Trust Wallet’s own TRX staking guides; the 14-day period was checked on TRON mainnet that day.
Short answer: in Trust Wallet, open TRX, select your staked amount, choose Unstake, enter the amount and confirm. Stake 2.0 TRX then takes about 14 days to return to your balance. If Trust Wallet shows an error, unstake the exact Stake 2.0 amount shown on Tronscan first, then the rest.
How to unstake TRX in Trust Wallet
- Open Trust Wallet and tap TRX (Tron).
- Tap your staked amount, then Unstake.
- Enter how much to unstake and tap Continue.
- Review the details and Confirm.
That submits the unstake on-chain. The TRX now waits out TRON’s pending period before you can spend it.
How long does it take for unstaked TRX to show up?
For Stake 2.0, about 14 days. That period is a TRON network rule (chain parameter #70), not a Trust Wallet setting, so the app cannot speed it up. Older Stake 1.0 stakes are the exception: Trust Wallet notes they unstake immediately.
If 14 days have passed and the TRX is still not spendable, it may be waiting to be withdrawn. Check the address on Tronscan (below); the withdraw step is explained in how to unstake TRX step by step.
How to fix the TRX unstaking error in Trust Wallet
Trust Wallet’s support team describes an error that appears when a stake did not complete cleanly, typically on addresses that hold both Stake 1.0 and Stake 2.0 balances. Their fix is to unstake the two parts separately:
- In Trust Wallet, open TRX, tap Receive and copy your TRX address.
- Paste it into the search box on tronscan.org.
- Open the staking details, make sure Stake 2.0 is selected, and note the staked amount including decimals.
- Back in Trust Wallet, choose Unstake and enter exactly that amount. The two numbers must match.
- Confirm. Then choose Unstake again, select Max, and confirm to release the Stake 1.0 part.
If it still fails, contact Trust Wallet support with your address.
Other reasons unstaking fails in Trust Wallet
- Delegated resources. TRX whose energy or bandwidth is delegated to another address cannot be unstaked until the delegation is reclaimed.
- Too many pending unstakes. TRON allows at most 32 unstakes waiting at once. Wait for one to finish.
- No bandwidth or TRX for the transaction. Keep a little TRX on the address in case the free daily bandwidth is used up.

Changed your mind, or need the TRX sooner?
- A pending unstake can be cancelled and re-staked, for example on Tronscan, if your wallet does not offer it.
- If you need liquid TRX before 14 days, early unstake pays out a staked position for a 7–10% fee.
FAQ
Can I unstake TRX in Trust Wallet without waiting 14 days?
Not on your own address: the wait is a network rule. The only ways around it are cancelling (which re-stakes) or selling the position through a service such as early unstake.
Why does Trust Wallet still show my TRX as staked after I unstaked?
It is in the pending period. Check the unlock date on Tronscan.
Will I lose voting rewards?
The unstaked TRX stops backing votes straight away, so rewards for those votes stop. Claim the rewards you already earned.
Do I need TRX to unstake?
The transaction uses bandwidth, which the free daily allowance usually covers. Keep a small TRX balance in case it does not.
