Published October 29, 2026. Based on TRON’s Stake 2.0 documentation; cancellation (chain parameter #77) was confirmed active on mainnet that day.
Short answer: yes. Under Stake 2.0 you can cancel a TRX unstake that is still in its 14-day pending period. The cancel call (cancelallunfreezev2) re-stakes all of your pending unstakes at once, with their energy, bandwidth and TRON Power, and withdraws any that have already finished waiting.
What does cancelling an unstake do?
One transaction does two things:
- Pending unstakes are cancelled. Their TRX goes straight back into your stake, and you get the same energy, bandwidth and TRON Power as before the unstake.
- Finished unstakes are withdrawn. Any unstake whose 14 days are already over cannot be cancelled; its TRX is moved to your spendable balance in the same transaction.
The transaction info reports both parts: cancel_unfreezeV2_amount (by ENERGY, BANDWIDTH and TRON_POWER, in sun) and withdraw_expire_amount.
Can you cancel just one unstake?
No. The protocol call cancels every pending unstake on the address. If you only wanted to undo one of several, cancel all of them and then unstake again the amount you still want out. That new unstake starts a fresh 14-day period.
How to cancel a TRX unstake on Tronscan
- Connect your wallet on tronscan.org and open the Stake 2.0 page from the Resources menu.
- In your stake overview, find the unstaking section and choose Cancel Unstake.
- Confirm the transaction in your wallet.
- Check your stake: the cancelled amount is staked again, and anything that had finished waiting is now in your balance.
Some wallets offer the same action in their staking screen. If yours does not, Tronscan works with any wallet it can connect.
How to cancel with the API or TronWeb
- HTTP API:
wallet/cancelallunfreezev2with the owner address, then sign and broadcast. - TronWeb (5.3.0 and later):
tronWeb.transactionBuilder.cancelUnfreezeBalanceV2(address). - Smart contracts:
cancelAllUnfreezeV2()in Solidity.
Do my votes come back?
Your TRON Power comes back. Votes are another matter: unstaking removed votes from the Super Representatives you supported, and the documentation only promises the power back. Open your voting page after cancelling and re-vote with any unused TRON Power, or it earns no voting rewards.
When should you cancel?
- You unstaked by mistake, or unstaked more than you meant to.
- You need the energy back: say USDT transfers started burning TRX after the unstake.
- You decided to keep earning, for example by selling your energy on TronSave Earn instead of withdrawing.
If you unstaked because you need the TRX, cancelling does not help: the only way to get liquid TRX before the 14 days end is to early unstake the position for a fee.
Cancelling a TronSave Early Unstake request is different
An Early Unstake request is not an on-chain unstake, so cancelallunfreezev2 does not apply to it. You can delete the request before the permission step. After it, you can choose “Cancel request (return permission)” once 24 hours have passed without the request being funded. The full rules are in the early unstake guide.
FAQ
Is there a fee to cancel an unstake?
Only the normal transaction cost, which free daily bandwidth usually covers.
Can I cancel after the 14 days are over?
No. A finished unstake can only be withdrawn. If you want the TRX staked again, stake it as new.
Does cancelling reset the 14-day clock?
The cancelled TRX is simply staked again. If you unstake later, a new 14-day period starts.
Does Stake 1.0 support cancelling?
No. Cancellation is a Stake 2.0 feature. For the full process, see how to unstake TRX.
