TRON Price Prediction: Can TRX Break Above $0.33?

By Tronsave July 16, 2026 38 Views

On 16 July 2026, TRON recorded 5,062,872 active accounts in a single day — the highest print of the month on Tronscan — while TRX traded around $0.3253 and could not clear $0.33. Four days later, on 20 July, TRX is $0.3268. The record was set, and the resistance held. That gap is the actual story, and it is a more useful question than “will TRX break out”: does network growth on TRON translate into TRX price at all?

CCN raised the $0.33 breakout question against record network growth. Here is what the on-chain data says about whether that link exists.

Table of Contents

The growth is real, and it is smaller than the headlines say

A number circulating in mid-July coverage — 26.97 million daily active accounts and 385.77 million daily transactions — is a monthly aggregate being reported as a daily one. Tronscan’s daily series for 11–18 July 2026 shows the real figures:

Date Active accounts Transactions USDT transfers
12 July 4,148,227 10,017,240 1,869,727
15 July 4,494,609 12,816,631 2,593,753
16 July 5,062,872 12,681,888 2,385,768
18 July 4,439,778 11,336,202 1,958,362

Roughly 4.1–5.1 million active accounts and 10–13 million transactions per day. Multiply the daily average across a month and you land near the 385 million figure — which is where the confusion comes from. The growth is genuine. It is not an order of magnitude larger than last month.

Total addresses on TRON reached 393,871,171 by 18 July, adding 150,000–200,000 new addresses daily. USDT on TRON stands at $90.22 billion with $31.89 billion moved in the last 24 hours.

Why record usage did not move TRX through $0.33

TRON’s fee mechanism is the reason, and it is arithmetic rather than sentiment.

TRX issuance is fixed by chain parameters, not by usage. Super Representatives receive 8 TRX per block produced, plus 128 TRX per block distributed across the 127 SRs — 136 TRX per block. At roughly 28,800 blocks a day, that is about 3.92 million TRX issued daily, or near $1.28 million at today’s price. That number does not rise when activity rises.

The offsetting sink is fee burn. Energy burned costs 0.0001 TRX per unit (the getEnergyFee parameter is 100 sun). But the network only burns TRX for energy that is not already covered by staking. The daily energy supplied to stakers is capped at 180 billion units by the getTotalEnergyCurrentLimit parameter. Actual consumption between 11 and 18 July ran 158–224 billion units per day.

So on a heavy day like 15 July, consumption of 223.5 billion units sat well above the staked supply, and the excess had to be burned. On a quieter day like 18 July, 166.4 billion units sat below it. (This is an approximation — energy is allocated per account, so some burning happens even below the aggregate cap.) The point stands: a large share of TRON’s transaction growth is absorbed by staked and rented energy, and that share burns no TRX at all.

Record activity, in other words, does not mechanically create record TRX demand. It creates demand for energy, which mostly accrues to stakers who delegate it.

What would actually have to happen for $0.33 to break

Not a forecast — a set of conditions, over a two-to-four week window, assuming no macro shock:

  • Volume expansion on the attempt. TRX turned over $256.8 million in the last 24 hours against a $31.0 billion market cap. A push through $0.33 on volume at that level is the kind that gets sold back. Meaningfully higher turnover into the level is the thing to look for.
  • Energy consumption sustained above ~200 billion units per day. That is the zone where the staked supply is genuinely stretched and burn pressure becomes non-trivial. Two or three isolated days do not count.
  • USDT float growing, not just circulating. $31.89 billion of daily transfer volume on a $90.22 billion float is high velocity. Velocity is activity; float growth is capital arriving.
  • Derivatives positioning unwinding. Binance top-trader long/short ratio sat at 0.66 — 60.23% short — during the mid-July range. A short-heavy book is fuel for a move through resistance, but only if a catalyst forces it.

Invalidation

The breakout case fails on any of the following, and a reader should treat these as more likely than the upside case until proven otherwise:

  • A daily close below $0.314. That is the support floor TRX has defended through this range. Below it, the structure described here no longer applies.
  • Active accounts falling back toward 4.1 million for a sustained stretch. That removes the fundamental leg of the argument entirely.
  • A rejection at $0.33 on rising volume. Failed breakouts on heavy volume tend to be more informative than successful ones on light volume.

There is also a structural invalidation worth naming: if the mechanism above is right, TRON can keep setting activity records for months without TRX clearing $0.33. Usage growth is not a price catalyst on this chain in the way it is on fee-burning L1s.

The practical read for TRON users

If you are transacting rather than trading, the analysis above has a direct consequence: because most transfers are covered by staked or rented energy, your costs are set by the energy market, not by the TRX chart. Renting on the TronSave energy market is what puts you on the cheap side of that split. For high-volume senders, buying energy in bulk and Auto-Buy remove the manual step. If you hold TRX through the range, staking it for energy or bandwidth is how you sit on the receiving side of that energy demand.

FAQ

Is TRX going to break $0.33?

Unknown, and anyone stating otherwise is guessing. The conditions listed above are what would have to hold. A daily close below $0.314 invalidates the case.

Does TRON really have 26.97 million daily active accounts?

No. That is a monthly figure. Tronscan’s daily series showed 4.1–5.1 million active accounts per day during 11–18 July 2026.

Is TRX deflationary?

It depends on the day. Issuance is fixed at roughly 3.92 million TRX daily from block rewards. Burn varies with how much energy is paid for by burning TRX rather than covered by staking. On heavy-usage days burn can exceed issuance; on quiet days it does not.

Why doesn’t record TRON activity push TRX up?

Because most of that activity consumes energy supplied by stakers and renters, not energy paid for by burning TRX. The revenue from USDT volume accrues largely to TRX stakers delegating resources, rather than to supply destruction.
